Best Friends. Those are the words that come to mind when I think of this pair and the love that overflows from their heart. I had such a fabulous time at this GREEK/LATIN wedding, with ALL the dancing and the food, how could I resist? How could I not have a great time? I was encompassed with an overwhelming sense of love and family, and most of all community. Micah and AJ are both beyond blessed, more than any of my words could describe. As their wedding photographer, I got to experience first hand the Greek culture by standing in the midst of the dance floor, surrounded by shouts and yelps of joy over their union and celebration! WHAT A PAR-TAY! Congratulations again AJ and Micah, I pray that your lives will both be continually filled with love from one another, and from all of those that surround and support you!

Here is a little FABULOUS sneak peak at yesterday’s wedding at the Citizen Hotel in Sacramento. You have heard me say it before, and you will hear me say it again… Cassy and Kelly are the two cutest “rockabilly” couple I have ever met! Kelly is sooo in love with Miss Cassy that it simply just knocks my socks off You should see the way he looks at her, but then again, in a dress like this?!? I think every man in the world was checking out Cassy last night, from the moment we left the Citizen Hotel to the end of the evening. WHEW — G.O.R.E.G.E.O.U.S. to say the very least. Wait till I post more pictures in the future, the back of her dress will make you weak in the knees. “I guarantee it.”

These newly weds, Nick and Jenn Raven, are the coolest couple EVER! I mean it! They just rocked my world with their gorgeous wedding at the Jefferson Street Mansion in Benicia. Nick and Jenn sooo completely invited me into their little circle of friends, which is one of my most favorite things about my job. I love it when the bride is laughing with me, and the groom can put his arm around me like a pal, simply like I have known them for years… It is an beautiful experience, and it is one of the reasons why I do what I do. I love touching people’s hearts, and blessing them with my artistic wedding photographs. YAY! Besides their totally RAD love, and coolness, I can’t stop obsessing over what an UNBELIEVABLE wedding venue theÂ Jefferson Street Mansion is. I love it beyond words! From the gorgeous lighting during their evening ceremony to the vintage feel of the actual mansion itself. Inside the Jefferson Street Mansion is a priceless treasure of furniture, and wallpaper, and bedding that brings you back in time – to around 1865. Note to future brides: If you ever book your wedding in Benicia at the lovely Jefferson Street Mansion, YOU MUST hire little ol’ me as your wedding photographer, because I totally want take photographs at this venue again.

Here is a lovely sneak peak at the new Mr. and Mrs. Anthony and Micah Vera It was a gorgeous event with tons of love, laughter and most of all… FAMILY! This big-fat-greek-wedding definitely lived up to it’s title! Married on October 10, 2009 (just a week ago) the event was held in Sacramento at the Tsakopolous Library Galleria. It was a really awesome venue, I especially loved the upstairs balcony, where the guests could look down on them from above. Weddings like this, just make me giddy about my job and about my life! Thank you to a most awesome couple… and congratulations on your love and new marriage! I hope you are both enjoying Europe.

Pier 39 Engagement | San Francisco Wedding Photography

As I was finishing the last few pictures from this engagement session, I couldn’t help but feel so incredibly overwhelmed by God’s love. Not only am I blessed beyond measure to be a wedding photographer, but I get to be sooo intimate with each couple that I meet. They literally invite me into their stories and let me watch their love unfold, as they get more comfortable in front of me and my camera. I know I have said all of this before, but it is why I do what I do. I LOVE love! Cassy and Kelly are the sweetest most lovable couple! This Engagement Session at Pier 39 in San Francisco was filled with tons and tons of laughter, and sweet joy. We even had people coming up to us on the Pier to try and get in the pictures with them… HAHA! I normally don’t take my clients somewhere so public to be watched as a “side-show” but I couldn’t resist the opportunity for some fun color, plus Cassy loved the idea of a carousel!

I just woke up this morning to a lovely post on Rock and Roll Bride… I love Cassy, and I think Kelly is such a sweet heart! They are the cutest DARN couple ever, and I couldn’t imagine them with anyone other than each other! I cannot wait for their their wedding in 2 weeks. 2 WEEKS! YES! They are getting hitched near old town SACRAMENTO at the California Auto Museum, so the photographs should be really cool! Check it out! Oh me, OH MY! Life just doesn’t go as planned does it?!?

Well… here we are, Katie (my assistant photographer) and I, sitting in Old Town Sacramento in quite the pickle!

After location scouting for a wedding this weekend, we realize that my tire is flat (because Katie smashed a coffee mug with her MONSTER foot, then I DROVE over it like a dummy)

I had to call AAA to fix it, because I am such a girly girl pansy and don’t know how to change a tire. BUT HEY! Neither does Katie!

We are quite the pair! A dynamic DUO! But… people love us, because we are SPECIAL!

I had tons of fun! Maybe even wiped a tear (or two) away from my eye… Joseph and Amanda Bonoccorso got married on May 30, 2009 at Frasinetti Winery in Sacramento. What a darling fun couple, and what a gorgeous location! I had the pleasure of assisting -my assistant- Katie during their lovely event. It was FUN-FUN-FUN being the second photographer and getting to hang out and support my BFOF (best photographer friend) KATIE. We found ourselves laughing and dancing around Frasinetti, snatching up the wonderful photography opportunities, and the beauty of this darling bride and groom. It was definitely a wedding photographers playground with all the different textures and settings that encompassed us. Who doesn’t love the “CITY BY THE BAY”? I must admit that living so close to San Francisco has been a blessing from the time I came out of the womb, AND… I have never taken it for granted! It’s beauty graces many of my engagement photographs here on my blog and my website. It is simply, by far, one of my favorite spots to take my clients for engagement sessions. It is also my favorite get-away-from-the-small-town- life destination (where I live). There are so many fun and colorful people living in San Francisco, and when I visit, it always reminds me of the reality, the beauty, and the harshness of humainty. It is a beautiful contradiction, and I love to be there soaking it all in.

Knowing this lovely city as much as I do, and being there as frequently as I am, it has offered me many new AMAZING friends in photography. There are constantly classes and courses, or seminars featuring FABULOUS photographers and their work. This just simply ROCKS! I have been inspired by soooo many, either by their work, by their use of lighting, or their friendship over a cup of coffee. So, I am featuring them in this blog! Napa Valley Engagement Photography | Little Skinny Greek Engagement…

… Soon to be BIG-FAT-GREEK-WEDDING!!!!! HA-LEH-LUH-YEAH! Â I am soooo excited to be the wedding photographer at this wedding, I can hardly contain myself…! I have watched “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” about a million times, to the point where I say “OPA” all the time! I think I am greek. It is just like the father says in the movie, “There are 2 kinds of people Tula, those who are greek, and those who wish they was greek.” Well, its true, its true… especially after spending a little bit more time with Micah and Anthony here in downtown Napa Valley shooting their engagement session. In fact, it is pretty much like I am part of their extended family, (not really) but we did ALL attend the same high school. Unfortunately not at the same time (they are both 6 or 7 years my junior) but we are still Justin Sienna alumni together. Actually most all of Micah’s family has attended Justin Sienna in Napa. The reason why this is so exciting is because my high school is a private school, located in the Napa Valley, and has a graduating class about the size of an ant. It is rare to meet someone who went to this school, let alone 2 people who were high school sweet hearts and have made it all the way to the alter!Â As you can see, Micah and Anthony are the bestest of friends. We had a blast hanging out together in downtown Napa! Looking forward to the wedding coming up on October 10 in Sacramento at Tsakopolus Library!

Fred Hoover and Leslie Martin and getting “hitched” locally here in our hometown of Vacaville, October 17, 2009. These two were a lot of fun to stomp around with in Calistoga, Napa Valley for the evening! (I must say that I have some wonderful and amazing clients…) I had them hiking through fields of sticky weeds, in vineyards, jumping over ditches, and hanging on for dear life in the car, while Â speeding down Silverado Trail in Napa, trying to beat the sunset. (Is there nothing I wont do for a great location? From Napa to San Francisco I don’t know…) Â But I think they turned out fun, colorful, and romantic. I love engagement photographs. Thanks you guys for a great time! Looking forward to more fun times coming up in Vacaville.
